Description

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of critical data-intensive services. • Architect, design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient production data services. • Monitor and troubleshoot database performance issues. • Create robust systems and processes to ensure data accuracy and reliability. • Drive productivity and efficiency improvements by evaluating and implementing technologies. • Champion code quality through comprehensive testing, code reviews, documentation. • Collaborate with cross-functional team members to understand data requirements. • Mentor and support less senior engineers in development practices.

Requirements

• Advanced experience with SQL, database performance tuning, query optimization, and database schema design (dbt experience is a plus) • Advanced experience with Python (any experience with golang or Java is a plus) • A proven track record of implementing complex data extraction solutions (ETL/ELT) • Experience with event-driven architectures and technologies such as Kafka • Experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Dagster or Airflow • Experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform • Experience working with an AWS architecture to develop and maintain data services • Expertise in conducting comprehensive code reviews, proficient troubleshooting, rigorous testing, and implementing robust CI/CD pipelines • A desire to understand both technical and business challenges, working on a multitude of different data sources and use cases • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders • A strong track record of problem solving and a “roll up your sleeves” mentality
