Description
• Develop, maintain, and evolve Airtable’s design system and visual language. • Align product design and engineering teams on core patterns and branded experiences. • Collaborate with various teams to understand their needs and translate these into system requirements. • Maintain detailed documentation of design system components. • Conduct regular audits of products to ensure adherence to the design system. • Advocate for design system best practices. • Lead design system office hours and workshops. • Communicate updates and changes to the design system.
Requirements
• 5+ years of experience in product design, with a focus on design systems. • Proven track record of developing and maintaining a design system in a fast-paced, iterative environment. • Deep understanding of user-centered design principles, with a strong knowledge of accessibility and internationalization. • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain the benefits and limitations of design systems to a variety of stakeholders. • High level of craft and attention to detail in foundational design: typography, layout, color, responsive interfaces, and motion. • Proficiency in modern design tools (e.g. Figma, Sketch), and experience collaborating with teams working in front-end development (HTML, CSS). • Experience in facilitating workshops and design critiques, and in providing guidance to other team members.
