• The Community Intervention Worker will be responsible for working directly with individuals and families in the community who may be facing various challenges and barriers. • This role involves providing support, resources, and advocacy to help improve their overall well-being and access to necessary services. • CIWs will conduct street outreach within their focus area, in pre-determined gun violence hot spots to help identify and work with youth most at risk of being impacted by gun violence. • Additionally, respond to hit shootings within their focus area, establishing trust with community members, leaders, and stakeholders will help CIWs to engage in violence prevention and intervention work safely and effectively.
• High school diploma or equivalent • Prior experience in community outreach or social services is preferred • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with diverse individuals • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Knowledge of community resources and services • Empathy, compassion, and a non-judgmental approach
