Description
• Design flight hardware components, assemblies, and interfaces • Take ownership of engineering responsibilities from initial design to launch performance • Analyze components using hand calculations and FEA for flight critical hardware • Validate hardware through rigorous qualification and acceptance tests • Collaborate with teams to deliver a seamlessly integrated launch vehicle • Document hardware development progress through design reviews, technical drawings, and work instructions
Requirements
• 5+ years of mechanical / propulsion design experience • Proficiency with CAD and PLM software tools • Extensive knowledge in material applications and manufacturing processes • Competence in FEA of mechanical systems with thermal and pressure loads • Design hardware with weight, cost, and manufacturability in mind • Strong initiative to solve problems and deliver quality results • Clear communication of technical reasoning and managing hardware interfaces collaboratively between teams • Desired multipliers include experience with cryogenic and pressurized systems, critical thinking for root cause investigation, familiarity with dimensional inspection equipment, and coordination of multi-disciplinary projects
