Description
• As a Senior Software Engineer on the Infrastructure team, you will help lead the development and maintenance of our core web infrastructure. You'll leverage your expertise in system architecture, data pipelines, and automation to ensure scalability, reliability, and security. This pivotal role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, driving innovative solutions, and mentoring junior engineers. • Take ownership of our near real time data streaming platform -- from data pipelines to data models, and all the way up to the API layer, you’ll be the go-to person when adding new features • Design the data streaming and messaging architecture, and own the data landscape, including near real-time data ingestion, processing, and data consumption • Work closely with a diverse set of stakeholders to distill complex data problems into elegant technical solutions • Invent and tinker. Imagine completely new ideas, experiment, and build transformative solutions for the freight industry
Requirements
• Proficient with backend language (Python, Java or modern backend programming language) • Ability to build a data infrastructure from scratch • Ability to architect complex data models supporting a real-world business • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in computer science or related field • 5+ years experience in software development • Infrastructure development experience with big data infrastructure such as Databricks, Kafka, Spark, etc. • Comprehensive knowledge of modern big data
