Description

• Perform as a high-level specialist in writing Architectural specifications for complex projects • Work as part of the project team to produce Project Manuals • Author Architectural sections for Project Manuals • Manage multiple projects and deadlines • Mentor less experienced Specification Writers and Coordinators • Coordinate the Project Manual for all other disciplines • Review and provide revisions to project-specific Keynotes • Offer modifications and improvements to in-progress drawings • Propose continual development and improvement of master specifications • Maintain awareness of industry reference standards and resources • Engage in the development of firm-wide standards • Participate in progress meetings for projects • Assist project teams during CA Phase with shop drawing and product substitution review • Collaborate with peers to develop best practices and share knowledge • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors • Support Sustainability goals of the firm • Act as a mentor to others • Perform other duties as required

Requirements

• Bachelor Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction or a relevant field • A minimum of 8 years of related experience in the architecture, engineering, or construction industry (5 or more years in specifications writing) • Current Architectural license, Engineering license, or CSI certification • Advanced knowledge in discipline and focused areas including project delivery methods • Detailed understanding of Contracts and relationship to Division 00 & 01 • Knowledge of building codes and construction techniques • Ability to perform Coordination QA/QC across disciplines • Business acumen • Excellent interpersonal, communication, teamwork, collaboration, and conflict resolution skills • Critical thinker • Highly analytical • Proficient in MS Office suite of programs • Familiarity with Autodesk Construction Cloud and MS Lists preferred • Familiarity with specification editing software required; proficiency in e-SPECS for Revit preferred
