Description

• Leading a team of back-end software engineers developing and operating our in-house metering and rating system. • Planning and executing complex technical projects. • Developing efficient team processes to effectively deliver value to our customers and the business. • Collaborating across the organization and consistently interfacing with product and platform engineering teams. • Developing Objectives and Key Results (OKRs). • Improving team performance and quality-of-life. • Improving product performance and quality. • Reviewing and giving input on architectural system designs. • Career coaching including performance assessment, and career development. • Technologies we use: Kubernetes, Go, gRPC, Kafka, SQL, Grafana, and Prometheus.

Requirements

• Experience managing, coaching, and mentoring software engineers • Experience in a fast-paced, high growth tech environment building and scaling internal platforms. • Able to make effective trade-offs in regards to both engineering and product requirements, while balancing short term and long term needs • Regularly give feedback to team members on wins, and areas to improve. • Lead a team where individuals enjoy coming to work, know what needs to be done, and have the resources to get their job done. • Experience managing and delivering projects throughout the entire SDLC • Experience developing cross-disciplinary collaboration between engineering, operations, support, and product groups • Experience with end-to-end quality best practices and their implementation • Experience with staffing, interviewing, building, and retaining teams • Experience conveying complex ideas in written, verbal and presentational formats
