• Handle new business/renewal accounts through outbound interaction with various carriers and brokers • Work collaboratively and communicate effectively with internal sales staff on new business submissions • Underwrite habitational risks by identifying and analyzing risk exposures, loss frequency and severity against desired coverage • Develop relationships with both external and internal customers, with the 'customer experience' in mind, and deliver exceptional experiences with every interaction, in all modes of communication • Provide and create solutions for a broad range of inquiries from brokers and team members • Adhere to rating rules with proper file documentation • Navigate our online broker portal to complete tasks and troubleshoot • Identify opportunities to improve underwriting efficiencies • Work independently within deadlines while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with stakeholders • Obtain and understand market intel and trends • Handle work with a focus on underwriting profitability
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience • Minimum of 3 years of Commercial Package/BOP underwriting experience • Property and Casualty insurance license preferred (6 months preparation time permitted) • Strong understanding of habitational P&C policies preferred • Commercial Real Estate Insurance knowledge preferred • Eager for continual learning; professional designations are a plus • Strong verbal and written communication skills including negotiation skills • Must be self-driven, detail-oriented, comfortable in a growing ever-changing organization, and have strong organizational skills including time-management and prioritization • Some travel may be required from time to time for team and broker meetings
• $60,000 - $85,000 base salary plus bonus • Summer Fridays (Leave at 2:00PM all Fridays from Memorial Day to Labor Day) • Great healthcare coverage including Medical, Vision, and Dental • 401k with company match.
