Description
• Responsible for supervising staff and the operation and overall flow of the unit • Role model for all staff • Responsible for coordinating unit schedules and staff assignments • Participating in the performance appraisal process • Ensures staff meets approved Standards of Practice • Managing assigned personnel and unit activities • Promoting cooperative working relationships with physicians and other health care providers • Provides patient care as needed • Ensures quality care is provided efficiently and safely • Assists the unit Director in planning, organizing, directing, delegating, and evaluation • Facilitates quality outcomes of patient care • Provides leadership in the practice environment
Requirements
• Attends at least one leadership seminar each year • BS/BSN preferred • Two years of experience is required in specialty area • Supervisory experience preferred • Excellent customer service skills required • California RN license required • BLS & ACLS required • Certification in area of specialty preferred (i.e. CCRN, PCCN, MICN, M/S)
