• Champion the specification, development, validation, and deployment of state of the art AI hardware at the core of Nuro's self driving stack • Architect high performance on-board computing, networking and vehicle interface systems in collaboration with sensor & vehicle hardware teams. • Guide our design and manufacturing partners - communicate initial high level design requirements and regular midcourse adjustment updates. • Drive technology evaluation (CPU, GPU, ML accelerators, other ASICs) to provide directional guidance on future development paths. • Advise GSM team on strategic partnership development with suppliers in the high performance computing industry. • Mentor and support our talented junior engineers and interns
• At least 8 years of relevant experience • Proven experience with High Performance Compute architecture, electrical design and deployment • Demonstrated PCB design skills (schematic/layout), bring up, and debug. Proficient with popular EDA tools. • Expertise in high speed and high complexity electrical engineering design • Proficiency with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, power supplies, network analyzers, and other debugging tools. • Growth Mindset - our challenges are new and novel and require new and novel solutions. • Excited to work in a fast-paced startup environment; advancing projects from concept/development phase through launch and mass production. • Strong communication and organizational skills to help guide a cross functional team • Willingness to push a program forward from any level - system architecture down to electrical debug • Ability to derive designs to address novel applications with a wide range of possible solutions • Ability and skills necessary to drive a product independently from concept definition through product end of life.
