Description
• Lead organization-wide projects and develop tools that improve the security and compliance posture of our platform • Deliver impact by solving the hardest security and compliance problems and enabling products to reach the market quickly and successfully • Identify and guide prioritization of opportunities for improvement to our security tools and processes • Increase visibility and knowledge of security best practices to raise the bar across the company • Act as a multiplier for the team, elevating the impact and output of every team member • Influence the vision and roadmap for security and compliance to support our rapid growth • Represent Samsara in external-facing forums: writing on our engineering blog, speaking at conferences, collaborating with vendors • Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices
Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent practical experience • Deep subject matter expertise in authentication and authorization in multi-tenant platforms • 12+ years of experience in software design, development, and algorithm related solutions with at least 4 of those years in an architect or leadership role • Demonstrated ability to ship production-quality software in a dynamic environment • Expertise working with web services at massive scale deployed on Cloud providers such as AWS or Azure • Is an expert in writing high quality, performant and maintainable code in a modern programming language • Know your way around a UNIX shell and a Linux operating system • Has 15+ years of relevant industry experience in software development (ideal) • Has experience working with processes that scale well for a team of 500+ engineers (ideal) • Has experience influencing a company’s product and infrastructure security strategy (ideal) • Enjoys leading and mentoring engineers to think about systems - their life cycles, edge cases, and failure modes (ideal) • Enjoys enabling cross-functional collaboration between product, finance, and engineers with different focuses (frontend, mobile, firmware, computer vision, ML) (ideal)
