Description
• Design, implement, and maintain PostgreSQL database systems • Conduct performance tuning and optimization of database queries • Develop and manage robust backup and recovery strategies • Implement and maintain monitoring solutions • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations • Work closely with cross functional teams • Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations • Provide guidance in the creation of standards and procedures • Participate in on-call rotations to enhance reliability
Requirements
• Minimum of 10 years of operational experience at scale in database management • At least 6 years focused on PostgreSQL • Extensive experience managing PostgreSQL databases in cloud environments, particularly Azure • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, Database/Schema as Code tools, and Git workflows • Expert level experience analyzing and tuning queries • Experience with database recovery, including point-in-time recovery • Experience with management of Postgres Vacuuming process • Experience with PostgreSQL upgrade processes • Advanced knowledge of PostgreSQL architecture and performance tuning • Proficiency in automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and Flyway • Strong understanding of security practices and compliance frameworks • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Strategic thinker able to drive long-term database solutions • Collaborative and team-oriented
