• SPAN’s Power Electronics team is looking for an intuitive and multidisciplinary power electronics engineering intern to participate in developing various power converter platforms used in SPAN products. • You will work alongside outstanding Power Electronics Engineers to support the development and research in the areas of circuit simulation/design, magnetics simulation/design, design validation, EMC, controls, and firmware for power converters. • You will collaborate with various teams to implement technologies that electrify the home and delight our customers.
• Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Electrical Engineering • Good understanding of electronics, circuits, and power electronics fundamentals • Good understanding of semiconductor devices (e.g., SiC MOSFETs) and passive components (e.g., capacitors, inductors) used in and power electronics converters • Hands-on experience in the lab: Soldering, desoldering, assembling, and building PCBAs and prototypes • Familiarity with testing and debugging electronics and power electronics PCBAs at high voltages (e.g., 600V) in the lab environment • Detail-oriented and self-driven individual with excellent communication skills • Experience with simulation tools (e.g., SPICE, LTspice, Simulink, PLECS, etc.) for circuit and magnetic design • Experience using Python for testing hardware in the lab • Experience working with grid and high-voltage simulators
