• Take responsibility for the hardware system design, and realisation of a complex large scale electronics control system • Design, build and test electronics products using your skills of analogue and digital circuit design together with industry standard CAD packages and test equipment • Write the documentation of your electronics circuits and verification tests • Develop your experience in a broad range of electronics engineering subject areas • Maintain the multidisciplinary collaboration with mechanical engineers, software engineers, physicists, working towards a common goal • Play a key role in building control systems for quantum computers • Maintain UQs’ position of using state of the art electronics solutions • Help in the planning and scheduling of projects, reporting progress and issues • Engage with project planning activities, risk management and scheduling requirements • Help with fast turn-around proof of concepts and feasibility discussions • Develop a thorough understanding of the firmware and software used to control quantum computers
• Minimum 8 years experience in high-performance Electronics Design including Digital, Analog and Embedded • Experience in PCB Design using ECAD (e.g., Altium, or similar) • Use of spectrum analysers, oscilloscopes and VNA • Experience in FPGAs and embedded software engineering for real-time systems • Experience with designing and application of wire harnesses • Experience in working with suppliers and contractors • Demonstrate a strong discipline for thorough documentation • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Team Player • At least 2.1 BEng/BSc Degree in Electronics Engineering or a related discipline • British citizenship or a valid work permission for the UK
