Description

• Designing and leading implementation on next-generation products • Architect backend systems across product areas and lead implementation within Engineering team • Build products across stack enabling customers to create differentiated user experiences • Guiding and mentoring engineers in a remote, distributed environment • Working with management to scope and execute product roadmap items • Participating in complete software development lifecycle from requirement definitions to deployment • Working with stakeholders to translate needs into working features and products • Helping to expand the team by interviewing and training vendors • Collaborating on system design and architecture with lead architect and developers • Working in an agile environment with sprint planning and coordination with squad leads

Requirements

• 8+ years of senior software engineering experience working • Demonstrated ability to complete projects on time and on budget • Detailed knowledge of contributing and leading software teams using agile based methodologies • Experience screening, interviewing, and training candidates to grow and improve the team over time • Strong technical skills to in architecture, design, and implementation tradeoffs, including: • Back-end experience with SQL databases • Experience building web APIs and endpoints • Familiarity with Node JS, Python, Java or other backend/scripting languages • Familiarity with Salesforce a plus • Experience with AWS services and security configurations • Experience with messaging queues and message brokers • Experience with Twilio or other telecommunications platforms • Experience with geospatial (GIS) computations at scale • Is comfortable with ambiguity, and defining software architecture patterns that solve customer pain points • Has been bitten by enough deployment and maintenance issues in back-end systems to be opinionated on how they should be built • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization in a startup culture • Experience with HIPAA compliance and security
