Description

• Calico seeks an experienced mechanistic neurobiologist interested in identifying and understanding the causes of age-associated neurodegeneration. • Interested in understanding the pathobiology of Parkinson’s disease. • The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience applying biochemical, molecular and cell biological approaches to study brain cells. • Seeking a scientist that can deploy cellular perturbation systems for ascertaining causal events in neurodegeneration. • Independent and collaborative role in a cross-functional research environment.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in biochemistry, molecular and cellular biology, neuroscience, or related field and 5+ years of post-doctoral or industry experience • Strong record of originality and productivity including impactful publications • Ability to design complex in vitro experiments that include multimodal technologies (RNAseq, ATACseq, metabolomics, etc.) • Proficient in quantitative analysis of complex ‘omics data sets • Excellent communication skills • Strong track record of working collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to produce high quality results in a timely manner • Must be willing to work onsite 5 days per week
