• We are looking for an engineering manager to support our pyrolyzer development. • We have several stages of pyrolyzer development planned to achieve gigatons of carbon dioxide removal, and we need a strong engineering manager who can help bring a team of engineers through each stage of that system development. • You will work with the other engineering leads in SF and CO to ensure that the metric we care about, $/tCDR, is minimized through design efforts. • You will play a key role in hiring cross-functional teams to execute on our engineering challenges. • Build out sufficient structure within the pyrolysis team to ensure that the most critical problems, attributing to increases in $/tCDR, are quickly and iteratively solved. • Work cross-functionally with other engineering leads in SF and CO, ensuring that design learnings are communicated widely and easily transferable to other stakeholders. • Hire a cross-functional team of engineers to design, build, test, and iterate on both our current pyrolyzer product and the future iterations of pyrolyzers that we have started to pencil out.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering management or an equivalent combination of education and experience. • Proven ability to lead a fast-paced cross-functional team through a myriad of different rapid design challenges requiring coordination across different skill sets (mechanical, electrical, controls, fabrication). • Strong technical skills to bring a new perspective to our fast-paced brainstorming environment of turning a current problem into several potential solutions. • A hands-on approach to design and iteration. You lean towards trying and testing something fast over spending hours in front of a computer. • An eagerness to learn about all aspects of the pyrolysis process and our current pyrolysis product, which can include over 10% travel to see our operations in CO.
