• Responsible for shaping the technical vision and goals of the software engineering team • Partner with the Product Management team to align the technical roadmap to product strategy • Leverage deep understanding of technology to make decisions on scalable architecture, devops tools, infrastructure improvements, and process optimizations • Operate as an engaged leader with cross-functional teams and provide subject matter and technical expertise for multiple development projects • Oversee adherence to cybersecurity protocols • Ensure effective, on-time shipping of product improvements and features • Develop and improve upon existing engineering KPIs • Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team • Lead the day to day operations of the software engineering team • Manage a team of engineers through providing technical guidance, support and mentorship • Facilitate and coach software engineering teams on engineering requirements estimate and work sizing • Hold regular 1:1’s and skip levels to ensure staff engagement, development and create avenues for feedback • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback for professional growth
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) majors • 10+ years of combined software development and management experience with increasing responsibilities • 3+ years of managing software organizations over 10 people • Experience managing full stack engineering teams • Experience with Cloud Services architecture with: • Amazon Web Services (primary) • Google Cloud Platform (secondary) • Experience with tools and programs including: • Github • Linear / Jira • CircleCI • Python • New Relic • Sentry • Intercom • Cypress • Slack • Google workspace • Experience at an early to mid-stage startup. • Experience w/ managing software development for equipment monitoring/control would be valued
