Description
• Oversee a team of accounting professionals across the U.S. headquarters and branches in India, Ethiopia, and Kenya • Establish and enforce consistent accounting policies and procedures to ensure adherence to U.S. GAAP and local accounting standards • Stay abreast of updates to U.S. GAAP and international accounting standards (IFRS) • Develop and implement a robust system of internal controls • Select and implement a robust accounting system that can be standardized across all locations • Develop and implement a standardized closing process for all locations • Prepare comprehensive financial statements from all locations according to U.S. GAAP and IFRS standards • Provide guidance and mentorship to the Global Accounting Manager and Staff Accountant
Requirements
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a global senior accounting role • At least 3 years of experience in a non profit global organization • Demonstrated expertise in U.S. GAAP • Strong understanding of international accounting standards (IFRS preferred) • Proven experience with implementing and managing global accounting systems • Hands on experience with SAGE Intacct is a plus • Experience with financial statement consolidation processes with working knowledge of multi-entity and multi-currency accounting standards • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies in financial data • Strong communication skills to effectively convey complex financial information to both technical and non-technical audiences
