• Define the Camera System architecture, requirements, verification and validation plans • Select or design optics, protective glass and coating, and closely collaborate with the mechanical team to define camera locations • Lead components selection for the camera system including image sensors, ISP and vision processors • Conduct trades studies to support requirements definitions and drive components selection • Perform data collections with various sensor configurations, sensors and optics • Create models of cameras and image processing pipelines • Define performance metrics and perform quantitative analysis of the camera system performance • Conduct latency estimations and measurements and propose optimizations to reduce latency • Oversee relationships with camera and SoC vendors • Contribute to the processing module hardware design or the development of algorithms for the signal processing pipeline
• Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Optical Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline • At least 5 years of experience designing and characterizing complex camera systems • Deep understanding of image and Time-of-Flight (ToF) sensors characteristics • Fundamental understanding of camera optics • Solid knowledge of image signal processing algorithms • Experience modeling vision processing pipelines using Matlab or Python • Strong verbal and written communication skills
