Description
• Newsweek is looking for an experienced Video Production Manager, YouTube & Platforms to develop and launch several new long-form and short-form videos and series as part of multiplatform digital video strategy to grow our audience on YouTube and other digital video platforms. • The primary focus of the role is growing and maintaining our YouTube channel with intentional, high-quality, stylized videos that aim to have a longer shelf life and cover a broad range of topics, from food, entertainment, animals, to economy and technology. • This role combines creative vision with strategic planning, focusing on both editorial and branded video content.
Requirements
• 3-5+ years as a senior video producer or similar at a media organization producing video content to build audience views and engagement on YouTube and other video platforms • Proven experience of growing views and subscribers on YouTube and managing a YT channel successfully • A track record of developing new video series ideas • Passionate about YouTube; knowledge of algorithms, SEO, analytics and optimization best practices. • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Premiere, and familiarity with graphic design tools • Strong understanding of video production processes, including pre-production, production, and post-production. • A strong videographer and producer that is versatile: can shoot interviews, in the field, capture broll, edit, etc. • A keen, creative eye for what type of content will fit best on our YouTube channel • Excellent news judgement and storytelling skills with the ability to create engaging content. • Ability to manage others in high-performing environments • Expert editorial judgement and a passion for building episodic content • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects at once and deliver quality results with tight timelines • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; a great collaborator • Must be flexible and adaptable; a problem solver • Must be willing to leverage AI and other emerging tools in creative tasks to automate, generate and/or produce • Ability to work both independently as well as part of a team or crew; a self-starter • Must be willing to travel to shoot locations to film and direct
