• Responsible for the accounting and financial operations of the San Francisco AIDS Foundation. • Ensures compliance with all government financial regulations and GAAP. • Provides oversight of annual external audit and preparation of 990 tax filing. • Responsible for risk management and maintaining adequate insurance coverage. • Leads all SFAF’s accounting functions for timely financial information availability. • Manages relationships with outside financial organizations for proper asset security.
• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field required. • Minimum of ten years of experience in accounting and financial management in an automated setting reflecting increasing levels of responsibility or five years similar experience with a CPA and/or MBA. • Supervision and team building experience required. • Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting/finance regulations. • Knowledge of advanced accounting principles, particularly in non-profit accounting. • General knowledge of payroll and tax regulations. • Ability to analyze complex financial issues and provide recommendations. • Ability to train and coach employees to ensure they meet the requirements of the department and job functions. • Strong problem-solving skills. • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • Solid commitment to customer and employee service. • Ability to communicate reasoning to provide clarity on processes and changes. • Exhibits sound and accurate judgment, can clearly explain logic and reasoning for decisions. • Ability to work comfortably with diverse populations, with sensitivity to issues concerning HIV and all disabilities.
