Description
• Lead attorney supporting the Head of Plaid’s Credit/CRA Business and their leadership team. Key partner on strategy and execution • Provide expert legal advice and guidance on Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and other legal matters related to lending, credit, and consumer reporting agency activities • Deeply embed with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, compliance, and product marketing to integrate legal considerations into the product lifecycle • Assist go-to-market and commercial counsel in deals, ensuring legal compliance and mitigating potential risks • Stay abreast of changes in relevant laws and regulations, and ensure proactive adjustments to company policies and procedures • Draft and review legal documents and disclosures related to consumer reporting and data protection • Work closely with external legal counsel when necessary and represent the company in regulatory discussions
Requirements
• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with an active license to practice law • Minimum of 10-15+ years of legal experience, with expertise in FCRA and consumer reporting agency operations • Prior experience with consumer reporting agencies • Strong understanding of consumer protection rules and regulations, including UDAAP and GLBA, and data protection and privacy laws • Willingness to roll up your sleeves and dive into the details. • Excellent communication and collaboration skills • Proven ability to provide practical and strategic legal advice to cross-functional team • Good sense of humor with a strong desire to grow and learn
