• Collaborate closely with PLC’s substantive units to effectively litigate, support, and manage large-scale impact cases • Work with PLC’s Director of Legal Services and other supervisors to identify and support local, statewide, and national policy advocacy efforts • Develop relationships with PLC’s substantive units, attend case reviews, and support and co-counsel with the units in identifying and pursuing impact litigation and policy advocacy • Serve as a member of PLC’s leadership team and actively participate in office wide management activities • Supervise fellows, staff attorneys, paralegals, and administrative staff to ensure high quality legal services are provided to PLC’s clients • In conjunction with the development and finance staff, ensure grant compliance, compile grant reports, and respond to audits for the grants funding • Represent PLC in community meetings at the local and state level, effectively advocating for statewide, regional, and local protections for PLC’s clients • Co-counsel with other legal services organizations and private attorneys to ensure adequate resources available for impact litigation • Oversee volunteer lawyers, law students, and paralegals • Represent PLC at legal networking and community outreach events
• Active membership in the California State Bar/Bar Membership pending or eligibility to practice under State Bar Multijurisdictional Practice Program • A minimum of five years experience, with state and/or federal court litigation experience required • Excellent written communication skills • Strong public speaking skills and ability to communicate with a variety of audiences, including community members, volunteer attorneys, court staff, and judges • Experience supervising legal staff • Experience leading a litigation team • Must have own transportation, valid CA Drivers license, insurance and good driving record; travel throughout Orange County is necessary • Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or have a valid medical reason for not being fully vaccinated or a sincerely held religious belief preventing vaccination
