• Working with both robot software engineering and R&D teams • Improving and expanding capabilities of robot fleet • Evaluating third-party ROS packages for integration into stack • Working on new localization and SLAM algorithms • Enhancing robot perception with better awareness of non-static obstacles • Developing new navigation algorithms • Testing and integrating new hardware components • Assisting in migration from ROS1 to ROS2 • Creating new hardware and software products from Simbe
• BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or related field highly recommended but not required • Extensive experience with C++ and Python programming • Extensive experience with Robot Operating System (ROS) • Experience with ROS navigation stack • Experience working with Ubuntu or other Debian-based Linux distributions • Experience working ROS-based robots such as TurtleBot • Experience working with LIDAR and/or RGBD sensors • Deep understanding of robotics, machine learning, and/or computer vision algorithms recommended but not required • Comfortable reviewing literature on state-of-the-art robotics and ML algorithms • Well-versed in source control systems, particularly Git • Proficient in shell scripting with Bash and Python • Familiarity working with Docker containers recommended • Familiarity with modern software development methodologies
• Salary range: $100,000 - $200,000 a year • Salary dependent on experience and location
