🔄 Hybrid – San Francisco
• Lead new store build outs, working closely with an appointed architect and/or designer • Responsible for implementing the preconstruction, construction, commissioning and project closeout phases of each construction project • Develop and execute project plans, including scope, budget, and timeline • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and building codes • Ensure adherence to project specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations • Monitor project timelines, ensuring that milestones are met and projects are completed on schedule • Lead and manage communication between vendors, Architect/Design Lead, landlord and Thuma team • Manage Design and Build processes, leading RFP process, bids, procurement and managing all direct suppliers and vendors • Review Contract documents for accuracy and adherence to concept and Thuma standards • Manage project budgets and cost estimates • Monitor and report on performance, identifying potential project risks and developing mitigation strategies • Build SOPs for the internal construction management function and continually identify areas for process improvement • Support ongoing retail operations and efforts by coordinating with store managers and contractors for any maintenance, upkeep, and store improvements
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Flexibility to travel to properties in different geographical locations • Multiple years of experience as a Construction Project Manager in retail, hospitality or commercial construction • Strong knowledge of construction laws, methodologies, materials, and best practices • Knowledge of relevant building codes, permits, and regulations • Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize, multitask and meet deadlines • Proficient in project management software and tools • Ability to develop a clear understanding of brand objectives to communicate conditions and requirements that would impact the design of the space • Highly skilled in budgeting and scheduling with in-depth understanding of construction operations and processes • Experience in leading multi-level and street retail store projects is a plus • Knowledge of store system setups is a bonus
