• Day-to-day advice and counseling on a range of employment law issues, including recruiting, hiring, compensation and benefits, termination, diversity and inclusion, Employee Relations investigations, employee privacy, leaves of absence, contingent workforce, and litigation. • Work with local HR partners and local counsel to draft and review US and Canada-related agreements, letters, policies, and templates. • Collaborate with Unity’s UK-based Senior Employment Counsel, EMEA and APAC Lead, to develop and refine globally scalable employment processes, policies, training, and strategies that balance business needs with risk mitigation. • Partner with our People Compliance team to ensure Unity’s compliance with local reporting regulations, including EEO-1, AAP, and other local and federal requirements. • Work with senior business partners and outside counsel on litigation and special projects, including M&A, location and entity evaluations, workforce management, and business organization.
• An attorney with a JD from an accredited law school who possesses in-depth knowledge of California and US federal employment laws and some experience advising on issues in Canada. • Ability to draft documents, policies, and messages in a clear, concise, and digestible manner for business partners. • Comfort autonomously prioritizing deliverables in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment. • High level of comfort working with technology, such as Google Drive, Excel, Powerpoint, Slack, etc. • May require some travel.
