Description
• Reporting directly to the General Counsel • Responsible for providing expert legal advice and support on all aspects of warehouse lending, securitizations and structured finance transactions. • Partner directly with senior leadership in capital markets, finance, credit and operations on equity based financial products. • Support other legal and commercial contracting needs. • Manage the approval and introduction of state specific agreements and related documents.
Requirements
• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and admission to a state bar. • Minimum of 7 years of legal experience with securitizations, structured products, and capital markets transactions backed preferably by home finance assets. • Prior in-house legal experience is mandatory and candidates without that prior background will not be considered for the role. • Proven first chair experience in drafting, negotiating, and managing complex financial agreements. • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. • Familiarity with federal and state laws and regulations governing the origination and servicing of traditional mortgage lending, reverse mortgage or home equity investment products. • Strong and accurate analytical sense and ability to communicate effectively. • PC skills including working knowledge of the Microsoft environment and the ability to access, manipulate, organize and relay information in a meaningful way. • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders. • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
