• Support the Legal Team on compliance initiatives relating to title and escrow operations. • Conduct regular reviews of title and escrow files and operations for compliance. • Assess controls for adequacy, develop testing procedures and reduce risk. • Coordinate production of information for regulatory and underwriter examinations. • Prepare reports on findings of audits and internal reviews. • Collaborate with teams to supervise and facilitate compliance and training initiatives. • Exercise judgment to determine appropriate actions and escalate issues as needed. • Help develop and implement processes for efficient operations between teams.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. • 8+ years of multistate experience in the title and escrow industry. • 4+ years of compliance experience with national title agency and/or underwriter operations. • Substantial file audit and escrow accounting experience. • Facility with title production and escrow reconciliation software (Qualia preferred). • Experience with statutory and underwriter audits. • Strong understanding of the day-to-day operations of a title and escrow agencies. • Strong knowledge of and experience with implementing and maintaining compliance with ALTA Best Practices. • Familiarity with laws which impact title & escrow (e.g., RESPA and GLBA). • Ability to organize, prioritize and manage numerous compliance and training initiatives. • Proactive, problem-solving attitude and strong work ethic without extensive supervision; ability to effectively and efficiently manage numerous projects under time-sensitive deadlines. • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills with an acute ability to listen attentively and communicate effectively throughout all levels of the organization. • Proficiency and high aptitude with computer skills, such as MacOS, MS Office, GSuite, and Adobe Acrobat.
