Description
• Lead the execution of the financial close process including preparation of journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, US GAAP financial statement reporting, ensuring completion in an accurate and timely manner • Manage the accrual process for the Company, including the accruals for R&D contracts and Clinical & CMC expenses, ensuring all accruals are complete, accurately computed, documented, and recorded • Manage the day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable, payroll, equity, corporate credit card program, and employee expense processing • Partner with VP of Finance to develop and implement new policies and procedures, process improvements and financial applications to support growth and increasing complexity of business activities • Compile information for tax provisions and tax returns as prepared by third-party tax consultants • Ensure compliance with sales and use tax, property taxes and other tax related reporting requirements • Manage annual business licenses and corporate insurance renewals • Strengthen our internal control environment to include implementing and managing an internal control program compliant with the Sarbanes Oxley 404 requirements • Oversee financial audits (including preparation of PBCs and coordination with external auditors) • Other duties and projects, as needed
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field; • 8+ years’ work experience in Accounting, preferably in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry • CPA and/or Big Four experience preferred • Thorough understanding of US GAAP, accounting operations and financial accounting systems • Strong analytical skills, highly organized, exceptional attention to detail, and results driven • Ability to solve problems proactively and independently • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively with multiple functional areas in a collaborative, team environment • Highly proficient in Excel and other Microsoft Office Suites applications
