Description
• Advise client on their legal rights in matters and draw up legal documents about their case • Responsible for post conviction relief cases, including motions to vacate, expungements, motions to reduce, early termination of probation etc. • Experience with immigration law is highly desirable, but not required • Attend motion hearings on behalf of clients and advise clients following each hearing about best strategies • Handle open criminal cases including arraignments, pre-trials, pleas and sentencing on behalf of other criminal attorneys within the firm • Manage court appearances, drafting motions, interviewing clients and performing legal research • Analyze probable outcomes of cases using knowledge of legal precedents • Manage workload of cases • Provide legal analysis for clients to determine any possible case benefits
Requirements
• Criminal Defense Experience or Immigration Law Experience • Experience handling criminal cases at the state and local level • A team player who is open to helping, strategizing, and working with fellow associates • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is strongly preferred, but not required • Interpersonal skills of the highest caliber
