Description
• Part of a team responsible for originating, analyzing and managing NHVI’s public equity investments • Public investing activities implement a long-only strategy focused on small and mid-cap biotech and medtech companies • Assess investment opportunities based on various criteria including clinical unmet and valuation • Conduct primary due diligence of new investment opportunities • Prepare and present investment materials and supporting documentation to guide investment decisions • Monitor and assist with management of public investments • Attend scientific and broker conferences • Assist in operations and other ad hoc tasks to support portfolio management • Collaborate with other areas of the organization to support other Novo Holdings activities
Requirements
• A strong scientific and/or clinical background, with a Ph.D. in biological sciences or chemistry, or a M.D. • 2+ years non-academic work experience in analyzing biotech companies and assets – ideally in buy-side or sell-side equity research, investment banking, management consulting with a focus on biopharma or in business development; experience analyzing medtech companies is a plus • Proficiency with financial statement analysis, accounting, and financial modeling • Experience working with industry databases, libraries and other data sources to assist in researching companies, clinical trials, competitive positioning, and commercial opportunities is preferred • Proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint
