Description
• Develop tests for autonomous systems • Define minimum operating requirements • Identify and test edge cases • Evaluate long-term productivity metrics • Evaluate stability of components and/or features • Automate testing for use by operations team • Document and debug issues in hardware sensors/actuators, software features, user interface, etc. • Work with the team to deploy releases in a mission critical environment • Work in our office (downtown San Francisco, CA) as well as our test site (Richmond, CA)
Requirements
• 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience • Able to create and debug software systems: building maintainable code with good diagnostics that scale • Excellent at handling ambiguous or undefined problems • Experience performing root-cause analysis • Experience defining requirements and design docs for new tools to increase testing capabilities • Experience in robotic systems (particularly autonomous systems) and/or data science • Familiarity in continuous build, integration, test and delivery systems • Proficiency in Python and modern C++, including object-oriented design • Proficiency in 'wearing a lot of hats', as our stack contains features from machine learning all the way to mechanical sensors/actuators • Excellent communication skills in order to act as the glue between engineering team and operations team • Experience in git • Ability to communicate with and collaborate across software, hardware, project, and operations teams to achieve goals • Relevant professional experience to the above qualifications
