• Provide paralegal and corporate governance support to SB Energy’s legal team and support growth of the platform, work interactively with the legal team, the executive team and other functional teams. • Provide corporate governance and entity management support as the business positions itself to capture emerging opportunities in the following segments of the energy industry: utility scale-solar, development and acquisition of new technologies, battery storage, etc. • Assist in contract management and take an active role in review and interpretation of current and future agreements • Manage and coordinate corporate governance, corporate reporting and subsidiary management matters, including organizational charts, statutory filings, business registrations, qualifications, dissolutions, and election of directors and officers • Research requirements and best practices for subsidiary management and records retention • Assist with the preparation and review of board materials and maintaining records for board and governance decisions • Bring new ideas on the expansion of the business while evaluating software and other potential generative AI systems • Support legal operations with document management and storage, technology implementation and usage and coordination with outside vendors • Provide general support on company matters across all business and administrative departments; interpret and apply legal requirements to the business - in particular, laws, regulations, and rules relating to business activities, as well as implementation of policies, training, or other processes.
• 5 + years of relevant experience at a major law firm or with a sophisticated in-house legal department. • Strong technical proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, legal entity management platforms and related software • Business acumen and excellent commercial judgment. • Ability to work independently and as a team member; ability to set priorities and to respond to changing demands from multiple sources. • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) including ability to work independently; project management skills; ability to negotiate; ability to provide a high level of client service and build consensus across a matrixed client organization. • Ability to interface with all levels of the organization. • Ability to take lead on any responsibilities within the job description, with support from outside counsel and/or other members of the internal legal team.
