• Lead a team of recovery technicians dedicated to Dragon Recovery operations and responsible for overall success • Coordinate personnel and support for Dragon recovery and other operations as needed • Recruit, hire, train, develop and evaluate technicians • Interact with other departments, vendors and external agencies to arrange support, meet requirements and achieve success • Assure regulatory compliance, personnel safety, security and mission readiness • Maintain AS9100 work area including maintenance and documentation of calibrated tools, certified rigging and ground support equipment • Oversee maintenance of recovery and marine systems including descaling, painting, lubrication and cleaning • Lead and participate in Dragon recovery training operations, mission execution, and vehicle processing • Participate in other recovery operations as required including but not limited to Falcon and Starship recovery operations • Improve upon operations, making them less expensive, faster, safer, more efficient and reliable • Oversee the processing of flight hardware while ensuring quality, workmanship and adherence to applicable specifications and work instructions • Manage administrative responsibilities such as timecards, time off requests, personnel qualifications and team organizational tasks
• High school diploma or equivalency certificate • 3+ years of experience as an engineer, fabricator, mechanic, technician or operations lead • 3+ years of experience with testing and troubleshooting mechanical, fluids or electrical systems (high or low voltage) • 3+ years of experience in a leadership role • Willing to travel >50% for the first year to train at Cape Canaveral • Ability to work in a fast pace, high-stress environment • Position may require long hours (10-12+ hour days) and weekend work • Ability to pass Air Force background checks for Cape Canaveral and Vandenberg • Ability to pass a self-contained atmospheric protective ensemble (SCAPE) physical fitness test • Must have a valid driver’s license
