Description
• The Director, City Operations will lead integrated operational planning for city services • Build relationships with key stakeholders, delivery partners, and subject-matter expert advisors • Collaborate with the host City of LA and venue cities on planning and delivery of city services • Generate analysis and insights for City Operations, building the operational plan for the Games • Integrate with cross-functional operational planning activities for roles like Transportation and Security • Foster a culture of inclusion by considering diverse community needs for accessibility during the Games • Partner with LA28 Impact team and local communities to ensure city services reflect diversity
Requirements
• Minimum 8 years of experience in planning and operational roles within City-related organizations and/or 6+ years in management consulting • Negotiation experience and diplomacy in balancing competing interests • Fluent working with Office suite products including Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel • Demonstrated commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) • Deep understanding of major event planning in collaboration with multiple stakeholders • Experience translating strategic plans into long-range operational plans • Demonstrated success coordinating cross-functional resources, timelines and processes • Olympic & Paralympic Games knowledge preferred • Experience in a leadership role, building teams, and working across various functions • A collaborative mindset; someone who prioritizes the team and fosters a culture of high performance without ego • Stakeholder management expertise; experience working with public sector constituents preferred • Executive presence and communication skills, including ability to package insights in a relevant, cohesive, and succinct storylines • Solid communication, team building, and interpersonal skills
