Description
• Support mission of changing how rockets are built and flown • Responsible for bringing structural test stands from design concept to full operational readiness • Complete projects on time and budget • Work closely with Additive, Design, Test, and Loads & Dynamics teams • Design components using NX/TeamCenter, perform analysis using Nastran, ANSYS and/or hand calculations, and conduct operations in the test yard • Brainstorm new ways to accommodate speed and flexibility of additive manufacturing methods • Properly document work and provide recommendations in technical discussions
Requirements
• 2+ years of experience in full cycle design engineering role and Bachelor’s degree in related discipline • Working knowledge of structural analysis and test • Fundamental knowledge of structures strength, stability, and fatigue failure mechanisms • Fundamental knowledge of additive and traditional manufacturing processes • Nice to haves: Experience with NX/TeamCenter, experience using Nastran and ANSYS, demonstrated record of timely project completion, experience in time-critical operations (test operations, launch operations, stage management, pit crews, etc.)
